Finally, one of the best ways students get home is by leveraging the strength of our community by reaching out to classmates, friends, and family. Most know how important it is to support others and would be happy to offer safe transportation home for the holidays, if possible. That’s Love and Honor in action this holiday season!

Traveling home can be exciting and stressful. So, here are some tips to make your travel day run smoothly.

Arrive early

Ensuring you have adequate time for adjustments to your itinerary is important on a busy day.

Bring entertainment

Listen to a podcast

There are a wide variety of free podcasts available to help make your travels more enjoyable, including Miami’s very own “Major Insight.”

Stream a movie or show

Many popular streaming services have a wide selection of content that can be downloaded and watched on-the-go, even without internet connection.

Read a book

This provides a great opportunity to get ahead on readings for classes, so that you can enjoy the holiday without worrying about homework. Or grab a leisure book to help you wind down on the trip.

Eat a snack

Airport Snacks

CVG has several food stops with convenient options.

Car Ride Treats

While driving home, keep snacks and beverages on hand and make dining stops if needed. Ensuring everyone in the car is happy and full makes a drive home much more enjoyable.

Keep in contact with your family

Make sure that you have a charged phone to communicate your travel plans and arrival time.

By planning ahead, you are already choosing a better travel method with stronger logistics and more excitement. We encourage you to embrace this opportunity to relieve yourself from academic pressure and appreciate time with loved ones. Happy travels and celebrating!
