A big step in the application process for college is deciding where you want to apply. Let’s walk through the top five reasons why you should apply to Miami!

Get Set for Academic and Future Career Success

Whether you know exactly what you want to do or you are still unsure, Miami offers over 200 undergraduate majors, co-majors, and minors. At Miami, you can combine multiple majors or minors to pursue your unique goals – and still graduate on time. Our faculty are nationally ranked for their commitment to undergraduate teaching, and our 16:1 student-to-faculty ratio means they have time to provide meaningful mentorship and guidance. That’s just one of the reasons we are ranked 12th among national public universities for our four-year graduation rate. 

Earn Scholarships

Over 90% of first-year students on our Oxford campus earn scholarships or grants, which, unlike college loans, do not need to be paid back when you graduate. When you apply for admission to Miami by Dec. 1, you’ll receive priority consideration for our merit scholarships, valued up to the full cost of tuition.

In addition, Ohio residents are considered for the Ohio Governor’s Scholarship (an award for one student from each Ohio county), and Honors College students compete for our Prodesse Scholarship and full-ride Presidential Fellows Program. 

Find Your Next Adventure Through Study Abroad

Miami is ranked among the top 25 schools in the U.S. for the number of students who study abroad. We also have fantastic “study away” options, including career-launching programs like Inside Washington or Inside Hollywood. Each year, over 2,000 Miami students earn academic credit through off-campus educational programs. One popular option is our own Miami campus in Luxembourg – within a three-hour train ride of five other countries, where students can live and learn for a semester in the heart of Europe.

Miami’s campus is right next to Uptown Oxford, which caters to the Miami community with plenty of dining and shopping, as well as festivals and events throughout the year.
