There’s nothing quite like move-in at Miami. Across campus, residence halls come back to life as students unpack, meet their roommates, reconnect with friends, and begin making their spaces feel like home.
And they don’t do it alone. Many staff and volunteers help to welcome new students and families, unload, get settled, and navigate those first moments on campus.
For first-year students, move-in is also the beginning of finding their place at Miami. From meeting corridor-mates and residence hall staff to sharing those first meals and exploring campus, it doesn’t take long for a new room, a new hall, and a new community to start feeling a little more familiar.

Soon enough, you’ll know your way from your residence hall to class without checking a map. But part of settling into Miami, Oxford, and the surrounding area is discovering everything beyond your daily routine.
Take a walk Uptown, find your favorite place to grab a bite with friends, explore Miami’s natural areas, or simply wander around campus until you discover a new favorite spot. There’s a lot to explore in Oxford, and you have plenty of time to make it your own.
Whether this is your first time in Oxford or you’re returning for another year, there’s always something new to discover.
