One Birthday, Three Degrees, Countless Miami Memories

May 12, 2026 | admin

Reading Time: 4 minutes

This weekend, 4,159 Miami students will walk at Miami University commencement. Among them are three graduates who share something special: they all celebrated their 22nd birthday on April 25.

Casey, Aidan, and Nick Hargett are triplet brothers graduating from Miami University. While triplet births are already rare, the odds of all three brothers choosing the same university make their story even more unique.

According to 2023 Center for Disease Control and Prevention birth data, there were more than 3.5 million births in the U.S. that year and 2,505 (.06%) were triplet births.

Still, for the brothers, choosing Miami came naturally.

Now, after four years of shared memories and individual experiences, the three are preparing to take the next step together.

More Than Just Triplets

Meet Casey

Casey is the oldest of the three brothers, but only by two minutes. He jokingly shares that he’s the triplet who took the different path at Miami and will graduate with a degree in Supply Chain and Operations Management from the Farmer School of Business. While he chose to not live with Aidan and Nick to create his own independent experience, he still randomly runs into them regularly on campus.

Fun Facts
  •  After Graduation Plans: Heading to Columbus to begin career journey at Honda working in procurement.
  • Favorite Oxford Eatery: Mac & Joe’s (loves hole-in-the-wall feel, and the Mac bites and burgers are second to none!)
  • Campus Involvement: Business Student Advisory Council, Delta Sigma Pi, and The Supply Chain Management Association.
  • Why Miami: Farmer School of Business’s strong business reputation, campus culture and community, ideal location and close to home, and appreciates that their parents could easily visit and be part of their college experience.
Meet Aidan

Aidan is the second born and he describes the close connection the brothers share, including what he jokingly calls “triplet telepathy.” He’s a College of Arts and Science student who will graduate with a degree in Biochemistry.

Fun Facts
  • After Graduation Plans: Moving to Columbus and will attend The Ohio State University to study biophysics.
  • Favorite Oxford Eatery: Chop Bento – one of the newest locations in Uptown and highly recommends it!
  • Campus Involvement: Research student, Miami Steel Band, and plays clarinet in the Marching Band where he had the opportunity to perform at the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl.
  • Why Miami: Looked at many universities, and ultimately felt the size of the university was perfect, had a strong undergraduate research program, and the Marching Band was a huge draw as well.
Meet Nick

The youngest of the three triplets, Nick will receive a degree in Microbiology and Molecular Biology as he walks with his brother, Aidan, during the College of Arts and Science commencement ceremony.

Fun Facts
  • After Graduation Plans: Going to Cleveland for a research internship and clinical laboratory work at the Cleveland Clinic.
  • Favorite Oxford Eatery: Tous les Jours (loves the tiramisu latte) and Kofenya
  • Campus Involvement: Undergraduate research student, plays trumpet in Marching Band, Pearson Hall tour guide
  • Why Miami: He toured on a snowy and windy day, but the professors giving the tour that day impressed him with the opportunities shared when it came to Microbiology and undergraduate research, and Miami was a place he felt he could be involved both socially and academically. Like Aidan, was also drawn to the Marching Band.

Brothers First, Best Friends Always

Throwback of triplets Aidan, Nick and Casey Hargett standing in front of Butler High School will also graduate together during Miami University commencement.
Triplets Aidan, Nick and Casey at their high school graduation will also graduate from Miami together.

Together since pre-school, the triplets will soon head in their own direction after crossing Miami University commencement stage on Saturday, May 16.

Casey will begin his career journey in Columbus at Honda. Aidan will attend The Ohio State University to study biophysics, while Nick will head to Cleveland for research and clinical laboratory work at Cleveland Clinic.

But despite their different paths, the brothers say Miami strengthened the bond they have shared their entire lives, transforming their relationship from “brothers to best friends.”

And long after graduation, each of them will carry with them the same reflection about their time at Miami:

“To think that in such a place, I led such a life.”
